Enter Ramadan with a plan for taqwa

For the dinner table

The khateeb reminded us that reaching another Ramadan is a gift we cannot take for granted. He encouraged us to enter this blessed month hoping for Allah’s forgiveness and aiming to grow in taqwa, our awareness of Allah. We can prepare by honestly looking at ourselves and making a realistic plan for Quran, remembrance of Allah, prayer, and generosity. Ramadan also calls us to examine our hearts, our relationships, and the way we speak to people. Even a simple contribution, like bringing dates and water for a community iftar, gives us a way to serve others.
