For the dinner table

Today the imam told us how Shaitan tricked the leaders of Quraysh before the Battle of Badr. He made their bad deeds look good, told them nobody could beat them, and promised to stand right next to them. When the two armies met and Shaitan saw the angels, he ran away and left them on their own. The imam said Shaitan has used the same tricks since the time of Prophet Adam, and the Qur'an has already shown us his whole playbook, so we need to learn it and stop falling for it. He also reminded us that this world, like a crop that grows green, turns yellow, and dries up, doesn't last, and that real success isn't a big house or a fast car. Real success is having taqwa, being saved from the Fire and entering Jannah, and the best protection is getting to know Allah through His beautiful names.

  1. Shaitan made bad things look nice to Quraysh. Can you think of something that looks fun or cool but is actually bad for us?
  2. The imam said meeting Allah is the one meeting people forget to prepare for. What's one thing you could do this week to get ready for it?
  3. Which of Allah's beautiful names do you know, and what does it tell you about Him?
