Talk about it at home

For the dinner table

The khateeb reminded us that Allah is the true Wakil, the one who manages all affairs. We are caretakers on this earth, but being a caretaker does not mean we control anything. Wanting to control everything, our families, our circumstances, even governments, is a sign of weak faith, while our real job is simply to put forth effort. Just as Allah gave victory to 313 believers against thousands, He decides outcomes, not us. When we truly rely on Him, He grants peace and brings justice, even if it takes many years.

  1. What is something you tried hard to control this week that you could have left to Allah?
  2. Why do you think 313 people won against thousands?
  3. How do you keep hoping when something unfair takes a long time to be fixed?
