For the dinner table

The khateeb reminded us that Ramadan is a gift from Allah and encouraged us to begin preparing for it now. He explained that fasting helps us practice taqwa: being mindful of our choices and choosing to obey Allah. Ramadan gives us opportunities to pray more, read the Qur'an, control our anger, and experience the happiness of drawing closer to Allah. He encouraged us to reflect on our mistakes, seek forgiveness, and make a plan to improve. He also reminded us that faith and obedience can help us face difficulties with courage, and that gratitude for Ramadan should continue through our obedience afterward.
