Build homes that raise hadith learners

“Every home should have Sahih al-Bukhari.”

For the dinner table

Today’s khutbah used Imam Bukhari’s life to help us think about how we nurture children and carry forward the Prophet’s teachings. The khateeb highlighted his father’s care for halal earnings and his mother’s prayers, teaching, and efforts to bring him to gatherings of knowledge. He reminded us that children absorb their surroundings, so the examples and opportunities we give them matter. He also praised a teacher’s willingness to accept a correction from the young Imam Bukhari. We were encouraged to learn the Prophet’s life and hadith together, pray for our children, and support their abilities without comparing them to others.

  1. If children are like sponges, what is something good you would like to absorb more of this week?
  2. What would you like our family to learn together about the Prophet’s life or teachings?
  3. What is a strength you could use to help someone, and how could we support you?
