For the dinner table

The khutbah reminds us that hardship does not mean Allah has abandoned us. Through Yusuf, Umm Salama, Ummu Musa, and the Prophet at Ta'if, we see patience, faith, obedience, and forgiveness bringing unexpected good. We should keep making dua, trust Allah's promise, and avoid giving up hope when circumstances look impossible. We should also forgive when we have power and remain grateful in both good and difficult times.

  1. When has something difficult taught you patience or brought an unexpected good?
  2. What does forgiving someone show about real strength?
  3. What is one dua you could make when you feel worried or powerless?
