Talk about it at home

For the dinner table

Surah al-Balad teaches that difficulty is a normal part of life, but it never excuses us from responsibility. Allah gives us abilities and blessings so we can choose what is right and help people who are struggling. The steep path includes feeding the hungry, caring for orphans and the poor, and supporting others even when we have problems of our own. At home, faith means practicing patience and mercy when everyone is tired or upset. We can reflect each day on our hardships, blessings, and one good thing we can do.

  1. What was one hard thing today, and where did you notice a blessing alongside it?
  2. Who might need our help this week, and what could we do?
  3. How can our family show patience and mercy when everyone is tired?
