For the dinner table

Life in this world is temporary, and Allah tests us through both ease and hardship. When things go well, we should be grateful; when we face sickness or trouble, we should be patient and trust Allah's decree. The khutbah says illness can raise a person's rank, wash away sins, and preserve the reward of good habits, while families who care for the sick can also be rewarded. We should visit sick Muslims, pray for them, and protect others by taking precautions and staying home when contagious. By fulfilling one another's rights and bringing good intentions to our actions, we help build a united community.

  1. What good habit could you strengthen while you are healthy?
  2. How can we help someone in our family who is sick?
  3. What is one right of a Muslim neighbor or friend we can fulfill this week?
