Talk about it at home

For the dinner table

Ramadan is more than going without food and drink; it trains our hearts to live with taqwa, or awareness of Allah. We should use the remaining days for prayer, Quran, charity, remembrance, supplication, and forgiveness instead of screens and idle talk. Fasting should appear in how we speak and how gently we treat our spouses, children, neighbors, and coworkers. Each of us is responsible for our homes and should be a good example to people around us. We should live these days as though this may be our last Ramadan and ask Allah to accept our worship.

  1. What is one screen habit you could change for the rest of Ramadan?
  2. How can our family show that fasting is improving the way we treat one another?
  3. Who around us might need a kind reminder or a good example from us?
