Talk about it at home

For the dinner table

This khutbah reminded us that Ramadan is a time to grow in kindness and generosity. In the story of Jabir, the Prophet, peace be upon him, noticed a young man struggling, took time to talk with him, and helped him with his needs. He also encouraged Jabir to show love toward his wife, reminding us that kindness belongs at home too. The khateeb connected fasting with understanding people who do not have enough and urged us to help people in Gaza and in our own community. We can carry these lessons beyond Ramadan by paying attention, offering comfort, and sharing what we have.

  1. What could you do when you notice someone being left behind, like Jabir was?
  2. How could we show extra kindness to someone at home this week?
  3. What is one way our family could help someone during Ramadan and keep helping afterward?
