Talk about it at home

For the dinner table

Today the khateeb talked about reform, which means going back to the beautiful way Allah first made us and fixing what we have let go wrong. He said a lot of the fighting, anger and division in the world comes from what people's own hands have done, and that Allah shows us signs both in the world and inside ourselves so we turn back to Him. He reminded us that every person is a child of Adam, and that we should follow the Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, in how he thought and behaved, not just in how he looked. He also said that mothers and women deserve deep respect and honour, and that we should use our prayers to ask Allah to forgive us for the wrongs we have done. Most of all, he said that with the Quran, salah and faith, we are richer than any millionaire.

  1. The khateeb said we're 'millionaires too' because of what Allah has given us. What is one blessing you have that money can't buy?
  2. What is one way you can thank or help your mom (or another woman who looks after you) this week?
  3. When something feels wrong in your heart, what do you do about it?
