For the dinner table

Today’s khutbah began after an unexpected delay, and the khateeb used that situation to remind us that things happen by Allah’s decree, even when we do not understand the wisdom. He explained that believers can find goodness through thanking Allah in happy times and showing patience in difficulty. He reminded the congregation to respect the imam, while also saying that the imam has a duty to be on time and respect everyone’s time. He encouraged us to value our time in the masjid through prayer, Quran, remembrance of Allah, and learning together. He closed by asking Allah to help us love learning our religion, follow the Prophet’s example, and keep our hearts attached to the masjid.
