For the dinner table

Today's khutbah reminded us to accept the truth even when it comes from someone we dislike or disagree with. The khateeb encouraged us to examine evidence carefully and described comparing reports as one way to check a claim. He warned that saying “this is how we do things” is not a good reason to reject clear truth. He connected sincerity toward Allah with being fair and accepting what is true, even when it goes against us. He also reminded us to ask Allah for guidance so that we can recognize the truth and follow it.
