The khateeb, at 11:21

The khutbah reminded us that this world, its wealth, and its power will not last, and every person will eventually stand before Allah alone. Through the story of Adam and Iblis, the khateeb explained that temptation, desire, and arrogance can pull us away from what we know is right. He stressed that sincere repentance can wipe away even a major sin, while stubbornly continuing in a smaller sin can make it more serious. He also taught that something being legal does not necessarily make it moral, so believers must choose what pleases Allah rather than search for loopholes. We can protect ourselves through remembrance of Allah, Ayatul Kursi, the protective surahs, good company, and steady awareness of Allah. Real success is not temporary worldly gain, but the lasting success Allah grants in the hereafter.
