For the dinner table

Today’s khutbah taught that taqwa means protecting ourselves from what displeases Allah because we love Him and want His pleasure. The speaker explained the word through its Arabic root for protection and shared a definition attributed to Imam Ali: fear Allah, follow revelation, accept what He provides and decrees, and prepare for the day we return to Him. Allah does not ask us to do what is beyond our capacity, so our task is to obey sincerely and do our best. Living with taqwa brings guidance, forgiveness, and a path toward Allah’s love.
