Shaykh Osama taught that the greatest migration is not only the physical Hijra of the early Muslims, but the daily migration of our own hearts away from what Allah has forbidden and away from the desires that pull us down. He reminded us that we often worry more about what people think than what Allah thinks, hiding bad habits from the imam or our parents while forgetting that Allah sees everything. The beautiful news he kept repeating is that Allah knows we are weak, and He loves those who keep turning back to Him with sincere repentance. The Quran was sent to lighten the burden of our attachment to sin and this world, not to make life easy, but to free our hearts. He ended by asking Allah not to let this world become our biggest worry and to make Jannah our true home.
