For the dinner table

Today’s khutbah told the story of a man who keeps asking Allah to bring him closer to Paradise and finally let him enter. The khateeb described Allah’s mercy and generosity, giving the man more than he could imagine. He encouraged us to hold on to hope during hardship, seek Allah’s forgiveness, and keep trying to turn away from wrongdoing. He also reminded us to love each other and take seriously the hurt we cause other people. As a family, we can practice treating people respectfully, saying sorry when we hurt them, and making dua for them.

  1. What would you like to ask Allah for in your dua today?
  2. What could you say to someone whose feelings you hurt?
  3. How can our family show more love to each other this week?
