Guard your heart from worldly love

“The soil of a believer is their heart.”

The khateeb, at 0:16

The khateeb compared the heart to soil where we choose what kind of love and faith will grow. What we see, hear, say, and do can enter the heart, so we should use our senses thoughtfully and fill our lives with remembrance of Allah. Even ordinary activities like eating, exercising, and caring for our bodies can become worship when Allah is part of our intention. Remembering Allah also gives us hope and steadiness when life feels painful or beyond our control. Like strengthening a muscle, growing in faith takes regular effort, so we can begin by adding one small act of worship at a time.

  1. What is one good thing you want to let into your heart more often?
  2. How could something you already do every day become an act of worship?
  3. What small act of remembrance could our family practice together this week?
