For the dinner table

Today’s khutbah reminded us that the heart is the center of our faith, and that Allah looks at our hearts rather than our appearance. Hearts can change, so we should ask Allah to keep us firm and protect us from heedlessness, love of wealth, and hardness. When we sin, we should turn back quickly through prayer, seeking forgiveness, good deeds, and returning people’s rights. The Quran and remembrance of Allah bring peace and can revive a heart that feels spiritually dry, just as rain revives the earth. This care should continue throughout the year, not only in Ramadan.
