For the dinner table

The khutbah reminds us that Friday's sermon is part of the prayer, so we should set our phones aside and listen. It teaches that asking Allah for forgiveness, or istighfar, is not only for obvious mistakes; it can become a steady habit that brings us closer to Him. The khateeb connects forgiveness with strength and steadfastness when life is hard. He also reminds us to forgive other people because we hope Allah will forgive us. Our goal is to compete less for worldly status and more for Allah's forgiveness.
