Talk about it at home

For the dinner table

Today’s khutbah reminded us that sabr is more than waiting; it means staying within Allah’s guidance in good times and hard times. We were urged to make the five daily prayers, especially prayer with the community, a priority rather than searching for excuses. The speaker also asked us to notice whether work, money, and worldly status are crowding out remembrance of Allah, and to learn and live by the Islamic calendar. Parents were encouraged to leave children a living example of following the Prophet and turning back to Allah. We can begin with repentance, steadier prayer, and a family effort to keep our faith visible at home.
