  5. Return to the Qur'an and Sunnah, seek knowledge and counsel, and follow the best guidance.
Try this week
Before making a decision, ask whether it brings you closer to Allah and whether you would be comfortable with Allah seeing it.
Ask whether you will be proud of the decision on the Day of Judgment and whether your parents and loved ones would support it.
Evaluate your friends by whether they remind you of Allah and encourage good character.
Audit social-media content for benefit, wasted time, normalized harm, and distance from Allah.
Return to the Qur'an and Sunnah, seek knowledge and sound counsel, and follow the best guidance.

For the dinner table

Allah created us to worship Him, so our choices should seek His pleasure and protect our faith and future. The khutbah gave us questions to ask before deciding, including whether a choice brings us closer to Allah and whether we will be proud of it on the Day of Judgment. Our friends and online content shape our character, so we should choose companions who encourage good character and use technology with taqwa. Our time, health, wealth, and youth are trusts for which we will answer. When we are unsure, we should return to the Qur'an and Sunnah, seek sound knowledge and advice, and follow the best guidance.

  1. Which friend helps you become a better person?
  2. What online habit would you like to evaluate this week?
  3. What decision could our family bring back to the Qur'an and Sunnah?
