For the dinner table

Today’s khutbah focused on taqwa, meaning staying mindful of Allah before we speak, decide, or act. The imam taught that this mindfulness brings a way out of hardship and provision from unexpected places. He applied that lesson to divorce, urging people not to lie, take revenge, block children from a parent, or use conflict to harm one another. He also urged us to keep our work, businesses, investments, and income halal, and to stay completely away from gambling and betting. We should trust that Allah provides what is meant for us while still working hard and choosing the lawful path.
