Talk about it at home

For the dinner table

Allah's love is a gift that people can seek even though they are imperfect. The khutbah says we grow toward it through taqwa, obeying Allah and avoiding sins, through contentment with what He gives, and through doing good quietly for His sake. It reminds us that someone who seems unnoticed may be deeply honored by Allah. When Allah loves a person, the sermon says, that love is announced among the angels and placed in the hearts of believers. We can begin by guarding our words and actions, appreciating our blessings, and doing one sincere good deed without seeking attention.

  1. What is one blessing you can appreciate instead of comparing yourself with others?
  2. What is a kind or helpful deed you could do quietly this week?
  3. How can we notice and honor people who are often overlooked?
