Raise children who live by principle
In one sentence
Because people are deeply shaped by social pressure, parents and communities should raise children with an inward relationship with Allah, sound character, and intentional good influences so they can live by principle rather than conformity.

Talk about it at home
For the dinner table
The khutbah reminds us that people can be strongly influenced by the desire to fit in. Children need more than rules or protection from the outside world; they need a loving relationship with Allah, good character, and confidence in their values. Parents can build this through example, shared masjid time, honest questions, stories, dua, and everyday moments of connection. Young people should also choose friends and role models who help them become principled, resilient, and spiritually grounded.
- When have you felt pressure to fit in, and what helped you stay true to your values?
- Who are the kinds of friends or role models that help us become better people?
