Quotes
In the khateeb's words
“oh Allah I broke it oh Allah only you can fix it”
Talk about it at home
For the dinner table
The khutbah teaches that real tawbah begins by admitting honestly when we have done wrong. We should not let shame become despair, because Allah’s forgiveness remains open while we are alive. We should ask Allah for forgiveness with confidence that He alone can heal what we have broken. When we have hurt other people, sincere repentance also means apologizing and trying to repair the harm. The goal is regret that brings us back to Allah, not remorse that leaves us paralyzed.
- What is the difference between feeling sorry and actually returning to Allah?
- Why can saying “I was wrong” help repair a relationship?
- What does it mean to trust Allah after making a mistake?
