For the dinner table

Today’s khutbah used the World Cup as a mirror for Muslim life. The cheering across borders showed that Muslims still share love and belonging, and that unity can grow into helping people facing injustice. We were reminded to use our voices, votes, social media, mosque membership, and other opportunities to stand for justice and resist Islamophobia. The speaker also encouraged us to manage our time so prayer, family, and service receive the same commitment we give to entertainment. He closed by urging us to stay organized, brave, and active in helping oppressed people, especially Palestinians and others around the world.
