For the dinner table

Today the khateeb reflected on Surah Yasin and reminded us that the Day of Judgment will come, even though only Allah knows when. He warned that arrogance can make us dismiss other people's words and feelings, including those of our own family. He also explained that anyone making an accusation is responsible for backing it up. He spoke about people being denied justice and dignity, and about the hope of Allah vindicating those who were truthful. He ended by reminding us that the straight path can be long and difficult, but we can keep moving forward one step at a time.

  1. How can we show someone in our family that their feelings matter during a disagreement?
  2. What could you do if a friend shared a rumor about someone?
  3. What is one small step you could take toward pleasing Allah this week?
