For the dinner table

The khateeb reminded us that winter can be a chance to strengthen our trust in Allah and become more thoughtful about how we speak when things are difficult. He encouraged us to pay attention to our prayers and make wudu carefully and completely. He also asked us to care for relatives and friends, whether by helping with their needs or simply checking on them after harsh weather. Shorter days offer opportunities for fasting, and longer nights leave room for sleep, Qur’an recitation, and night prayer. As a family, we can choose small, steady ways to put these reminders into practice and ask Allah to help us.

  1. What could you say when the weather frustrates you that would reflect trust in Allah?
  2. Who could our family check on this week, and how could we help them?
  3. What small act of worship would you like to make time for this winter?
