For the dinner table

The khutbah reminded us that our time is limited and that life has a purpose: worshiping Allah and returning to Him. We should not let eating, drinking, entertainment, or possessions become the whole of our lives. Instead, we can use our time to learn, do good, help others, guide people kindly, and compete in truth and goodness. Because we do not know when life will end, we should prepare through taqwa, good character, prayer, and care for fellow Muslims. The speaker also called for unity and concern for people suffering in places such as Sudan and Gaza.
