For the dinner table

The khutbah reminded us that prayer, Hajj, and many parts of worship are meant to help us remember Allah. Dhikr is a special gift because we can do it anywhere, at any time, without needing wealth or a particular place. Just as water keeps a tree alive, remembering Allah nourishes and strengthens the heart. The khateeb encouraged us to notice what fills our time, whom we enjoy being with, and what words come out when we are frightened or surprised. By practicing remembrance in the morning, evening, meals, sleep, and daily activities, we can train our hearts and tongues to stay close to Allah.

  1. What is one moment in your day when you could pause and remember Allah?
  2. What usually comes out of your mouth when you are surprised or scared, and what would you like it to be?
  3. How could our family help one another spend less time scrolling and more time remembering Allah?
