Quotes
In the khateeb's words
“Allah deserves to be worshipped alone because He's the creator. He's the one created you and I.”
“If you're going to say anything, say good or remain silent.”
“When something happens between you and your husband, between you and your wife, make a to rakah and call upon Allah.”
Talk about it at home
For the dinner table
The khateeb shared the story of a worshipper whose mother called him while he was praying, and who later faced a false accusation. He reminded us to give our parents attention and respond kindly, even when we are busy. He encouraged parents and spouses to choose good words during disagreements and make dua for one another instead of cursing. When trouble comes, we can turn to prayer and ask Allah for guidance and help. He also reminded us to check what we hear before believing accusations, because rumors can cause people deep hurt.
- What kind words could you use when a parent calls you while you are busy?
- What dua could we make for each other when we feel upset?
- What could you do if someone shares a hurtful rumor about a classmate?
