Remember Allah and prepare for the Hereafter
“If you want to make a specific donation for a specific cause like feeding the needy, then please reach out to the Masjid leadership.”
The khutbah calls Muslims to anchor themselves in Qur’anic faith, taqwa, remembrance, prayer, and the Hereafter while supporting Ramadan worship, outreach, and masjid programs.
The khutbah in 5 steps
- Recitation from Surah al-Kahf about the Companions of the Cave, faith, mercy, and guidance.
- Standard khutbah opening with praise, testimony, blessings on the Prophet, and an exhortation to taqwa.
- Recitation from Surah al-A‘la emphasizing purification, remembrance, prayer, and the lasting value of the Hereafter.
- Prayer recitations from Surah al-Fatiha and Surah al-Kafirun.
- Ramadan and community announcements covering iftars, the open house, Taraweeh babysitting, children’s programming, halaqahs, Sunday school, and donations.
In the khateeb's words
“We have the iftar provision sign up sheet has been sent out it's available electronically but there's also some forms physical copies available at the front entrance as well”
“we'll be having our annual open house this year on the 21st of February so this is also another big important event for dawah and everything”
“if you want to make a specific donation for a specific cause like feeding the needy then please reach out to the Masjid leadership”
For the dinner table
Today’s khutbah reminded us of Allah’s guidance through recitation from Surah al-Kahf and other familiar passages, including the call to remember Allah, pray, and value the Hereafter. It also invited the community to prepare for Ramadan by supporting iftar meals and signing up for Taraweeh babysitting. Families were encouraged to participate in the children’s Ramadan video, attend the remaining halaqahs and Sunday school, and join the annual open house for dawah. The message was to keep faith, worship, learning, service, and community involvement connected.
- What is one way our family can practice taqwa this week?
- How could we help someone feel welcome during Ramadan?
- What could make the mosque’s programs easier for families to join?
