For the dinner table

Today's khutbah reminded us that sincerity means doing things for Allah rather than seeking people's praise. The Prophet worked with his hands and helped his companions, showing us the dignity of everyday work. The khateeb encouraged us to focus on doing things well, with honesty and care, instead of simply doing more or getting noticed. Cooking for our family, studying, and earning a living can become worship when we do them sincerely for Allah. Even when nobody thanks us or sees our effort, Allah knows it, so we can keep caring about the good we do.

  1. What is one helpful thing you could do for Allah even if nobody notices?
  2. How could you bring more care to a chore or school assignment tomorrow?
  3. What intention could we make together before preparing our next family meal?
