For the dinner table

The khateeb reminded us that Islamic History Month is a chance to learn, honor, and share the contributions Muslims have made. He said knowing our past gives us identity and helps us make wiser choices for the future. Muslim scholars and scientists shaped many parts of the world, and the Qur'an's call to read and seek beneficial knowledge helped inspire that tradition. The Prophet's example teaches that peace, security, caring for vulnerable people, and social contribution are foundations for a healthy community. As Muslims in Canada, we should learn our heritage, tell its story respectfully, and add our own good contribution.

  1. What part of Muslim history would you most like to learn about, and why?
  2. How can our family contribute something helpful to our community this month?
  3. What does being a source of peace look like at school or with friends?
