For the dinner table

Allah has given us more blessings than we can count, including breath, sight, hearing, movement, family, intellect, and Islam. The khateeb encouraged us to notice these gifts and thank Allah before asking Him for more. Gratitude should live in the heart through contentment and humility, while patience and trust in Allah help us through trials. He reminded us that the Qur'an connects gratitude with increased blessings and urged us to ask Allah for help remembering Him, thanking Him, and worshipping Him well.
