Keep worship steady after Ramadan
“The most beloved deeds to Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala are those deeds that are done consistently, continuously, even though it may be little.”
After Ramadan, believers should preserve taqwa by remaining steadfast in small, continuous acts of worship, trusting Allah to support them through life's difficulties.
The khutbah in 6 steps
- Community announcements request donations, fulfilled pledges, prayers for hospitalized members, and participation in youth programs.
- Security warnings address street scammers and WhatsApp hackers seeking passwords or phone access.
- The khutbah urges taqwa and steadfast worship beyond Ramadan, supported by Qur'anic verses and hadith.
- Steadfastness is presented as a source of angelic reassurance, contentment, and Allah's help during hardship.
- The speaker applies continuity to Shawwal fasting, Monday-Thursday fasting, and the middle three days of the lunar month.
- The message extends post-Ramadan consistency to patience, good character, Qur'an recitation, charity, and tahajjud.
In the khateeb's words
“So when we are going through these challenges and difficulties, we don't lose ourselves. Why? Because the angels were there to support us.”
“The most beloved deeds to Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala are those deeds that are done consistently, continuously, even though it may be little.”
“Even if it may be two rakats per day, we should do it. Even if it is two minutes.”
For the dinner table
Today's khutbah reminded us that Ramadan prepares us to worship Allah throughout the year. The khateeb encouraged us to keep going with prayer, fasting, Qur'an reading, giving, and good character, even if we do less than we did in Ramadan. He explained that Allah loves deeds we do consistently, even when they are small. If we missed an opportunity, we can begin again and look for other chances to do good. He also reminded us to trust Allah through difficulties and carry patience into our daily lives. As a family, we can encourage one another to keep a small, steady habit going.
- Which good habit from Ramadan would you like our family to keep practicing together?
- What could help you start again when you miss a good habit?
- When was it hard to be patient today, and what might help next time?
