For the dinner table

The khateeb reflected on Ayatul Kursi and reminded us that everything we have belongs to Allah. Possessions do not guarantee peace, and our good deeds are what we can take with us after death. He compared preparing for the next life to preparing for a journey, encouraging us to do good now. He also urged us to repair harm we cause through backbiting, hurtful words, or taking someone's rights. In prayer, he encouraged us to submit with our hearts as well as our bodies and remember that we are speaking to Allah. His reminder that Allah hears us wherever we call offers hope as we try to grow closer to Him.
