Build Muslim power through civic action

“The United States will be better off because Muslims are in it.”

The khateeb, at 30:34

The khutbah in 5 steps

  1. Diagnoses Muslim communal weakness and calls for assembling social, organizational, and financial power.
  2. Frames power-building as protecting Muslims, preserving freedom, supporting youth, and helping oppressed people.
  3. Argues that voting is obligatory through moral accountability, testimony, and community power while answering objections.
  4. Uses intention, sincere judgment, and lesser-harm reasoning to guide political choices.
  5. Gives concrete mobilization instructions: vote early, involve eligible family members, reach five neighbors, register participation, and involve youth.

Ensure every eligible member of the family votes.
Tell at least five neighbors about the importance of voting, possibly through a tea gathering.
Register in the community database and record voting participation.
Help contact non-voters by phone or door-to-door outreach.
Young people who cannot yet vote should train by helping with voter outreach.
