For the dinner table

The khutbah teaches that being good to parents is joined to worshipping Allah and is a major sign of faith. We should speak gently, avoid showing irritation, make dua for them, and show gratitude through both words and actions. When parents grow old or need help, we should spend time with them, serve them patiently, and honor them, with special care for our mothers. We should also keep family ties and speak only what is good, because kindness to parents and relatives brings blessing and protects us from sin.

  3. When might staying silent be wiser than joining a conversation?
