For the dinner table

The khutbah teaches that dua is a central act of worship that brings a believer closer to Allah. We should make dua especially in sujood, during the last third of the night, between the adhan and iqamah, and at special times on Friday. The khateeb warned that Shaytan may use shame, sin, or delayed answers to make us stop asking. Instead, we should repent, keep returning to Allah, and trust that He knows what we need. We can bring personal worries and wider concerns, health, family, work, provision, safety, and justice, to Allah with hope.

  1. What is one time this week when you would like to make a special dua?
  2. What can we do when guilt makes us want to hide from Allah?
  3. What is one concern about our family or community that we can bring to Allah together?
