For the dinner table

The khutbah taught that gratitude begins with noticing Allah’s blessings. Many blessings are easy to miss, including waking up, breathing, health, food, family, and the ability to enjoy ordinary things. Busyness, social media, entertainment, and comparing ourselves with others can make us overlook what we already have. We can practice gratitude by regularly reflecting on our blessings, looking to those with less rather than those with more, and using what Allah gives us in good ways.

  1. What is one ordinary blessing you noticed today?
  2. What kinds of media make it harder to feel grateful?
  3. How can our family practice gratitude this week?
