For the dinner table

Allah invites us to notice His signs in our own creation, our families, sleep, rain, and the world around us. These signs should strengthen our belief in Allah and in Muhammad as His truthful messenger. The khutbah teaches that faith becomes real through praying on time, speaking good words, honoring neighbors and guests, eating what is halal and wholesome, and practicing good character. It also calls us to avoid intoxicants, gambling, drugs, zina, lying, and pointless arguments, while giving extra wealth in charity. Fasting and steady self-discipline help us grow in taqwa, and we should carry these reminders into the coming week.

  1. What sign of Allah did you notice this week?
  2. How can we say something good, or choose quiet, when we are annoyed?
  3. What can help us pray one salah on time today?
