Ramadan should deepen a lasting Quran relationship

“The believer's relationship with the Qur'an is a relationship that is continuous.”

The khateeb, at 8:29

Because Ramadan is the month in which the Quran was revealed, Muslims must build a continuous relationship with it by reciting, understanding, pondering, applying, and sharing its guidance.

For the dinner table

Ramadan is a special guest and a chance to draw closer to Allah. The khutbah reminds us that the Quran is not only something to recite, but guidance to understand, ponder, and live by. The Companions listened carefully, reflected on the verses, and acted on what they learned. We should build a Quran-centered habit in Ramadan and keep it after Ramadan, asking Allah to make the Quran a help for us on the Day of Judgment.

  1. How can we show that we understand a Quran verse, not just recite it?
  2. What could help us keep reading the Quran after Ramadan ends?
