For the dinner table

The khateeb invited us to think carefully about truth and how we recognize it. He reminded us that being popular or appearing on a screen does not make something true, and that following truth sometimes takes courage. Through Surah 102, he warned that collecting worldly things can distract us from remembering Allah and the life to come. He also encouraged us to seek Allah’s forgiveness, reminding us that we can turn to Him with the simple words “Astaghfirullah.” Together, these reminders invite us to use the life we have now thoughtfully, with honesty, responsibility, and hope in Allah’s mercy.

  1. When something online looks believable, what could you do to find out whether it is true?
  2. What is one thing that distracts you from what matters most?
  3. How could remembering Allah’s mercy help you make things right after a mistake?
