For the dinner table

Worldly life is temporary, while the lasting life is the Hereafter. The khutbah urges us to send good deeds ahead now, rather than waiting until the Day of Judgment. Mus'ab ibn Umair and the people of Gaza are presented as examples of sacrifice, courage, and serving others with whatever gifts we have. We do not need to be wealthy to begin: charity, volunteering, helpfulness, kind words, dua, and even a smile all matter. Each day, our family can choose one small action that benefits someone and prepares us for meeting Allah.

  1. How could one of our talents help another person?
  2. What small act of kindness could we practice tomorrow?
