For the dinner table

The khateeb reminded us that Allah’s gifts, wealth, family, intelligence, and status, are tests, not reasons to ignore the truth. We should keep our hearts pure, keep improving after good deeds, and give to people without expecting repayment. He encouraged us to prepare for Ramadan by reading five Quran verses each day with their meaning and context. The Quran is meant to shape our lives, not simply decorate our homes. The closing prayers and janazah reminder asked us to remember death, pray sincerely for those who have passed, and use our time well.

  1. What is one blessing that could become a test if we let it make us arrogant?
  2. What five Quran verses would you like our family to read and understand this week?
  3. What is one good deed we can do for someone without expecting anything back?
