For the dinner table

The khateeb shared Luqman's advice to his son as guidance for both children and adults. He reminded us that wisdom and abilities come from Allah, and that thanking Allah and the people who help us teaches humility. He encouraged parents to offer advice with love at thoughtful moments, and reminded children to treat their parents with kindness. He explained that salah reminds us we are accountable to Allah and should stand up against wrongdoing. In good times we practice gratitude, and in difficult times we practice patience, while treating people with humility and speaking calmly and respectfully.
