For the dinner table

Today’s khutbah reminded us to thank Allah for another Friday and for the opportunity to gather and worship, while remembering people facing hardship in places such as Sudan and Gaza. The khateeb encouraged us to remember Allah and follow the Prophet Muhammad as our role model. He explained that kindness can go together with strength and standing up for justice. He urged us to keep the Quran part of our lives and to use our voices, including what we share on social media, responsibly. Each of us can respond to injustice in different ways, and together we can support one another in doing good.

  1. What is one blessing you noticed today, and how could you show thanks for it?
  2. How could you be both kind and brave when someone is treated unfairly?
  3. What could we do together this week to make the Quran a bigger part of our family life?
