Falsehood collapses before the truth
“The injustice will stop. It will have an end.”
Allah’s established pattern is that falsehood and oppression may endure temporarily but ultimately collapse before truth, and believers must carry and strengthen the truth through sincere faith and action.
The khutbah in 6 steps
- The Quran establishes that creation has purpose and that oppression is temporary.
- Evil is permitted with divine wisdom and ultimately leads toward justice.
- The story of Musa’s rescue shows Allah’s plan unfolding through apparently dangerous circumstances.
- Pharaoh’s power, resistance, and destruction demonstrate falsehood’s eventual self-collapse.
- The Israelites’ later rebellion shows that authority requires righteousness.
- Believers must hold to truth and sharpen their relationship with Allah.
In the khateeb's words
“That is falsehood. By its very nature. It will disappear. It has a self-destruct component in it.”
“Al-haq has to be carried. With us. In action. In our heart. In our very soul.”
“We need to sharpen ourselves. Meaning, sharpen our relationship with Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala.”
For the dinner table
Today’s khutbah reminded us that Allah created the world with purpose, and that oppression does not last forever. The story of Musa and Pharaoh shows that Allah may allow falsehood time to act while guiding truth through surprising steps. We may not see the solution yet, but we can keep faith and carry al-haq in our hearts, souls, and actions. Power is not proof of righteousness; even people given authority can fail when they rebel. Our task is to strengthen our relationship with Allah and become sincere servants of truth.
- What helps you keep trusting Allah when you cannot see the solution yet?
- How can we carry truth through our actions this week?
- Why does having power require responsibility and righteousness?
